Episode Five: Visiting Author John Coy
This episode focuses on the partnership between international schools and visiting authors. It was a joy to work with John Coy during his visit with our students. John was able to share his journey from a student to a full time author. He also discussed some of the struggles that authors face along the journey to provide a realistic perspective of his life’s work. John’s journey encourages students to be messy with their writing; things don’t always have to be perfect. Good writing requires perseverance and an open mind.
On a personal level, I really enjoyed being able to discuss being a father with John. After our conversation, John provided a book, as a gift, for Joshua. Each time Joshua and I read this book, I will remember the conversation I was able to have with John. Thank you.
